What is Asbestos?

Asbestos was often used in building projects throughout the UK. It was used for a variety of purposes and was ideal for fireproofing and insulation. Any building built before 2000 (houses, schools, office blocks, warehouses, hospitals, any types of property) may contain asbestos. Asbestos materials in good condition are safe and are not an issue unless asbestos fibres are released, which can happen when materials are damaged.
